Belle of Louisville and Mary M. Miller ~ Directions to Our Boats and Parking

(Please note that the Belle does not validate parking)

From I-65 south (traveling to Louisville from Kentucky towns south of Louisville – Shepherdsville, Elizabethtown, Bowling Green, etc.):

Follow I-65 north all the way through Louisville.  Just before the Ohio River bridge, take the exit to I-64 West toward St. Louis.  Once on I-64 West, take the first exit (#5B) toward Third Street and River Road.  Our boats will be on your right side as you exit the expressway.

To get to the parking lot, at the stoplight at the bottom of the exit ramp turn left onto River Road.  Go two (2) blocks, then turn left again and go under the expressway.  That leads you into the Blue Parking Lot (Wharf Parking), and right in front of you will be Joe’s Crab Shack restaurant.  Once inside the parking lot, after you’ve paid the parking fee, turn left and follow the parking lot back down toward the boats.

After Second Street crosses Main Street (one block from Market Street), the street goes downhill to the right of the bridge. Do not cross the bridge!  At the bottom of the hill, jog slightly left, then go straight ahead all the way to the stoplight (River Road).

Turn right onto River Road, get in the left-hand lane, and go one (1) block. Turn left and go under the expressway.  That leads you into the Blue Parking Lot (Wharf Parking), and right in front of you will be Joe’s Crab Shack restaurant.  Once inside the parking lot, after you’ve paid the parking fee, turn left and follow the parking lot back down toward the boats.

Using the Waterson Expressway (I-264) from anywhere in Louisville:

The Waterson Expressway is a loop around Louisville that connects to I-71 (north and south), I-64 on the east side of Louisville and also on the west side headed to New Albany, Indiana, and to I-65 (north and south).

If you are staying somewhere close to the Waterson, getting to us is just a matter of figuring out which highway

(I-71, I-64, or I-65) is best for you to access.  Once you’ve chosen the highway, then follow the directions above as appropriate.

Tips for getting to us easily:

«        https://louisvilledowntown.org/traffic-alerts/

«        If you need help, call us at 502-574-2992 or (toll-free) 1-866-832-0011 in advance, and we’ll do what we can to assist.  If you’re not staying in the downtown Louisville area, your hotel or motel staff may also be able to direct you to the nearest or best Interstate highway, then you can follow the directions above as appropriate.

«      Map Quest and some GPS systems do not always get people to our boats in the easiest possible way.  Sometimes people have arrived late because they were trusting an electronic system that was not accurate.  We recommend using actual street maps (like from AAA) or calling us for additional help if the directions above are unclear.

«      Please do not wait until you’re on your way to our boats to call for directions.  During boarding the ticket office is typically very busy; and it’s difficult to hear or speak on the phone.  We are not usually able to give the amount of help needed because of the volume of customers we’re assisting at the time.

«      Please be aware that our boats leave as scheduled and cannot wait for late customers.  In addition, there is no refund or exchange of tickets if you miss the boat, regardless of the reason.  We operate on Eastern Daylight Time from the first week of March to the first week of November, and Eastern Standard Time the rest of the year.  Be sure and adjust your watches and clocks to Louisville time when you’re making your travel plans.
