Guidelines
Important
A $500 deposit of the charter fee is required to hold a date. Half the balance is due 60 days prior to the event and the other half is due 30 days prior to the event. Final payment must be received 30 days prior to the event. Must have cancellation in writing within 120 days of the event to receive a refund.
Must have a KY marriage license before a ceremony is performed on the Belle of Louisville or Spirit of Jefferson. Tables cannot be removed from main deck for the ceremony. Buffet will be set up on main deck in center aisle after ceremony.
Prices are just estimates and based on current rates. Additional fees may apply. Security will be required depending on the number of people on the boat. You are responsible for the security fee and refundable damage deposit. The Belle of Louisville books all security. Having your own security will not meet the security requirement. It must be booked through the Belle of Louisville only.
Catering and DJ service can be booked directly with the vendors themselves. A 15% catering fee is paid to the Belle of Louisville if not booked through the Belle of Louisville. If a DJ needs to plug into our sound system ther is a $150 fee.
For large weddings, you must have your own wedding coordinator, and it cannot be yourself or your mother or anyone in the wedding party. This person must understand their job and have a timeline of the events to keep everything moving. We are not wedding coordinators.
Caterer must provide all servicing equipment, china, plasticware, utensils, silverware, napkins, coffee, water and iced tea.
Decorations and flowers are not included in the price.
1 hour setup time before the event is included in the price.
1 hour rehearsal the day before is included in the price.
All alcohol and beverages must be purchased through the Belle of Louisville.
No glitter, bird seed, rice, or confetti is allowed on board. No liquids, coolers, illegal drugs, mace, pepper spray, or weapons can be brought on board. No candles are allowed on the boat except 1 unity candle. No ice cream or ice cream cakes can be stored on the boat. No tape on the walls or damaging the boat to hang up anything. Shoes are required at all times (bring other shoes or sandals if you would like to take off your dress shoes and dance).
It is recommended that you give tickets out with your invitations. You can make them yourself or we can provide our standard tickets. If you don't give out tickets, then it is highly recommended that you have someone accepting guests on board. The public walks up and down the wharf. We are not responsible for unexpected people boarding the boat if you don't require tickets.
All cruises are subject to navigating conditions. Severe weather, high water or high winds may cause your event to remain dockside, and a reduced rate would apply. If the vessel is not able to accommodate a dockside event for some reason, we will work with local partners to relocate the wedding. The Belle of Louisville and Spirit of Jefferson are not held responsible for events that cannot take place due to any of the above, but will issue fair refunds if no alternative venue is available. A wedding on the water is a risk because weather and river conditions are determining factors for the safety of the crew and all passengers. Please make sure you think about this before booking your wedding.
All items left after the wedding is over will be thrown away, so please make sure you pick up any decorations that you want to keep. Our staff will clean up the boat, but we are not responsible for items left on the boat.
After reading all guidelines above, you must return a signed copy of this form to the Belle of Louisville. Please sign and date below stating that you understand all of the guidelines. Your event can not be booked without signing this form.
