Belle of Louisville

A New Era for a Louisville Icon

Paddlewheel Society, Fall & Winter Calendar of Events

Belle of Louisville Riverboats, the Louisville icon and its sister ship the Mary M. Miller, are celebrating the steamboat’s 106th birthday with the launch of the new Paddlewheel Society, a membership program aimed to keep the boats cruising for years to come.

Funds raised via the Paddlewheel Society support efforts to preserve the historic boats as well as the development of education and public programming related to the important role the river and steamboats have played in our communities’ history. Based on their level of commitment, which ranges from $75 to $250 annually, members receive members-only perks, including complimentary and discounted cruise tickets, advance access for special events and Belle of Louisville Riverboats swag—such as this limited-edition poster (image attached). The membership is an opportunity to support one of Louisville’s most iconic attractions, as well as spend time on the river enjoying the organization’s new line-up of events and activities.

“We know the Belle lives in the hearts and minds of Louisvillians, but we also want it to be a place where our community can come and enjoy the river and all the boats have to offer,” said CEO Krista Snider. “The Belle of Louisville Riverboats are living pieces of history. Stepping aboard is a chance to enjoy a bygone era while also getting out into the fresh air, having a lot of fun and seeing Louisville and Southern Indiana from an entirely different perspective.”

With less out of town visitors, as well as less locals traveling, a cruise aboard the Belle or Mary M. Miller is a chance to ”get away” without leaving town. The organization has developed a full fall and winter calendar of events, including a Friendsgiving event and an opportunity to cruise the river with Captain Santa!

Purchase a Paddlewheel Society membership now and enjoy the benefits the remainder of 2020, including these highlights below, as well as the complete 2021 season. This fall’s highlights include:
