Belle of Louisville Shows Support for Breast Cancer Awareness

October 1, 2012

Louisville, KY – October is nationally recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Two of Louisville’s National Historic Landmarks are wearing their pink ribbons to help bring awareness to the cause.  The Belle of Louisville and Life Saving Station #10, the Belle’s ticket office, have pinned on their pink ribbons for the entire month of October.

The Belle is also celebrating her 98th birthday in October. In honor of reaching this venerable year, passengers and friends are encouraged to donate canned goods that will go to the Dare to Care Food Bank to help feed those who are hungry in our community. You can drop your canned goods off at LSS #10 (next to the Belle on the downtown wharf) anytime during the month. For more information about donating canned goods, call 502.574.2992.

Our Legendary Lady will be celebrating her birthday in style with a lunch/sightseeing cruise on October 14, 2:00-4:00 p.m. Birthday cake for everyone!  Passengers who wish to donate can bring canned goods with them to the cruise.
