You asked for more narration, so we’re giving it to you! Join us for a special two-hour narrated journey to learn more about our beautiful city, its history and our community’s connection to the river. As we cruise up the Ohio River, guests will learn about Louisville’s originals and the connection to the river, the factors that determined Louisville’s location, the role steamboats played in the city’s early growth and development and much more. In between narration highlights, relax to music from a Kentucky-inspired playlist as you snack on a delicious snack box (available at an additional cost).
This cruise will be aboard the Mary M. Miller on August 13 from 12-2 p.m. and aboard the Belle of Louisville on September 5 from 12-2 p.m. Tickets are $18.50 for adults (ages 15-64), $17.50 for seniors (ages 65+), $10.50 for children (ages 5-14) and a free ticket is available for children 4 & under.
roaring 20s sunset cruise | august 27
Turn back the clock and take a step back in time aboard our Roaring 20s cruise! Grab your best three-piece suit or flapper dress and dance the night away to the greatest jazz, blues and ragtime songs of the decade. This cruise features live music from Billy Goat Strut Revue and a complimentary glass of champagne. Finish the evening by dancing the night away with Foxtrot and Charleston dance lessons!
This special event is for adults 21 and over and runs from 8 P.M. to 10 p.m. on August 27, 2022 aboard the Belle of Louisville. Tickets are $39.99 for adults (ages 21-64) and $38.99 for seniors (ages 65+).
mcalpine locks lunch cruise | august 28
Climb aboard and cruise through the locks! This one-of-a-kind, highly requested river cruise aboard the Mary M. Miller is unlike any other experience we offer, allowing guests the first-hand experience of passing through the McAlpine Locks. Built in the 1920s, the McAlpine Locks are the only way to safely navigate past the Falls of the Ohio, the only obstruction along the Ohio River… which spans 981 miles throughout six states!
While onboard, you will be treated to a special narration about the history of the locks and what is happening as we pass through them, in addition to a delicious boxed lunch. After passing through the locks, we will cruise further downriver before returning to the Louisville Wharf.
(Please note that if river conditions or river traffic prohibit going through the McAlpine Locks, we will take a cruise upriver instead. The return time may be later than estimated based on when we can get in and out of the locks.)
Lunch options include:
- Homemade Pimento Cheese with lettuce and tomato on country white bread
- Bluegrass Chicken Salad with craisins and pecan on honey wheat
- Club Croissant: Honey ham, smoked turkey, maplewood bacon, American cheese, romaine lettuce and roma tomato on croissant
- Greek Vegetable Wrap: Stuffed with humus, lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber, feta, olives and pepperoncinis

Come aboard and celebrate National Bourbon Heritage Month from Bourbon City’s very own historic steamboat, the Belle of Louisville. This NOLA-inspired, bourbon-infused event starts off with a dockside dinner, featuring a delicious New Orleans-inspired meal, in addition to a meet-and-greet with Andrea D. Meriwether, Historian & Food and Beverage Curator. After dinner, set sail on a 2-hour Sunset Cruise, featuring bourbon tastings with a speakeasy-style cocktail experience and rounds of bourbon themed trivia as you relax to the sounds of Zydeco, Jazz and more.
This event is for ages 21+. Tickets are $65.50 for adults (ages 21-64) & $64.50 for seniors (ages 65+). Relax to the sounds of Zydeco, Jazz and more as you set sail on a 2-hour cruise up the Ohio River, taking in the sights along the riverbank along the way.

scallywags sunset cruise | ages 21+ | september 24, 8-10 p.m.
All aboard Scallywags! Join our swashbuckling crew as we fly the Jolly Roger and turn the Belle of Louisville into a pirate ship! On this adults-only voyage, you can indulge in a complimentary Pirate Punch or Angry Pirate beverage, jig to chantey tunes from Drunk & Sailor and duke it out to see has the best pirate costume. And be on the lookout…you never know when a sword fight might break out! Tickets for this event are $39.99 for adults (ages 21-64) and $38.99 for seniors (ages 65+).
swashbuckling family adventure | september 25, 12-2 p.m.
Shiver me timbers! Come aboard for a fun swashbuckling adventure onboard the Belle of Louisville. During this two-hour adventure, your family will join a scavenger hunt around the boat, jig to live pirate music and may even find yourself in the middle of a sword fight! Every child will receive a goody bag and concessions voucher.
Tickets for this pirate voyage are $39.99 for adults (ages 15-64), $38.99 for seniors (ages 65+), $18.99 for children (ages 5-14) and a free ticket for infants (ages 4 & under).
first mates’s market | november 19, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Take a trip to the river for our second annual First Mate’s Market! Climb aboard the historic Belle for a dockside shopping event featuring vendor booths (hosted by local small businesses!) and giveaways. This fun shopping and social event is the perfect opportunity to discover unique holiday gifts for friends and family, all while supporting Louisville’s small business community!
This event will run from 11 A.M. to 5 P.M. on November 19, just a week before our community celebrates Shop Small Saturday! No tickets are required for this dockside shopping event. Our Captain & crew look forward to having you aboard for this one-of-a-kind small business event!
